A member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), William Atta Owusu, has urged Ghanaians, especially those within the Ashanti Region, to be wary of the NPP's deceptive agenda to canvass votes.

According to the outspoken member of the NDC, it was very worrying how the Nana Addo-Bawumia-led NPP government takes the Ashantis for granted when it comes to development.

Citing Kejetia Phase II as an example, William Atta Owusu revealed in an exclusive interview with this reporter that he wondered why the NPP government would sit unconcerned despite complaints by stranded traders.

Describing the NPP as an incompetent and ungrateful party that only remembers electorates during elections, he said these scamming behaviours of the NPP can no longer work since most Ghanaians are far advanced in modern times.

"My good brother, they are just doing this for votes. The NPP has nothing good for the Ashanti Region. Within just three years, John Dramani Mahama was able to build the Dubai Market, which was rated as one of the outstanding markets in the whole of West Africa. Ever since the NPP came into power, there has been nothing good they have added to the project. Look at the way most of these traders are suffering, without the NPP showing any care," he said.

He further buttressed his points by referring to the number of promises that were made by the NPP, which it woefully failed to deliver.

He mentioned that the NPP made promises of a vibrant economy, currency stabilization, and market upgrades, among others. But, he said, the NPP has failed to fulfill any of them, adding that they have made the situation worse.

He particularly mentioned the Kejetia Phase II project and the abundant Krofrom market and said it was very worrying how the NPP has failed to do any developmental projects for the people of Ashanti.

He has, therefore, entreated Ghanaians, especially those in the Ashanti Region, to reject the NPP and vote massively for the NDC and John Dramani Mahama.

He mentioned that when it comes to development in the Ashanti Region, the best party and leaders to place a bet on are the NDC and John Dramani Mahama.
