For people who wish to venture into politics, they must do so after being able to chalk some level of success in life lest they will fall prey to the many temptations which punctuate the sector, politician and Chairperson of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has counselled.

Using his life as an example to students of Zenith University College during a seminar on entrepreneurship, Tuesday, the 2016 flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party said he is able to live an exemplary life because he established himself before going into politics.

“Yes, I do politics; but I want to tell you that, don’t go and listen to some politicians and say, ‘I want to be like him’ because politics is a whole different matter. If you haven’t achieved anything and you go into politics, all you’ll be going there to do is to go and collect something for yourself and not to go and give to people, which is what politics should be about,” he noted.

Dr. Nduom encouraged the gathering to build a strong entrepreneurial mindset as it is a key ingredient in becoming a successful entrepreneur.

While emphasizing that one does not need to own a business to be an entrepreneur, Dr Nduom said it was prudent for employees to handle assets of employers with care, indicating that their attitudes will not only have an effect on their current businesses but any other in future.

From February 2001 until July 2007, Dr. Nduom served as a Minister in the Economic Planning and Regional Cooperation, Energy and Public Sector Reform portfolios. He also represented the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) constituency as a Member of Parliament from 2005 to 2009.
