Don't shun NDC "returnees"; Mahama urges party officials

President Mahama has called on all party executives to receive members who left the party to join other parties.

he president who described members who left the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as prodigal children said, the victory of the party mainly depends on it number base.

He said “in every human organization there are bound to be disagreements and if for one reason or the other they left and are coming back, there should not be any impediment on their way.”

The president was addressing party supporters at a rally when he visited Damongo, his mother’s hometown.

“Let us see all the returnees as the Biblical prodigal son who was given the best of treatment on his return, because in Multi-party elections, numbers are very crucial and important,” he added.

According to president Mahama the party needs all its members to vote massively to ensure their one touch victory.

The President appealed to all members to accept others from Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR) and the National Democratic Party to make it a more formidable force capable of winning the December polls in the first round.

“We must stand united. We must see each other as one and the same,” President Mahama stressed.
