Dormaahene appeals for investigations in border disputes

Dormaa (B/A), Nov.7, GNA - Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, Omanhene of Dormaa Traditional Area has appealed to the Government to investigate and bring to justice two Ivoriens arrested for allegedly murdering a Ghanaian at Kofi-Badukrom in the Dormaa district of Brong-Ahafo. Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu, condemned the gruesome act and demanded an immediate diplomatic solution to make Ghana's frontiers safe. He made the appeal when Squadron Leader Benjamin Anane Asamoah (Rtd), Dormaa District Chief Executive presented 15 million cedis on behalf of the Assembly to the management of Aduana Stars Football club, based at Dormaa Ahenkro.

The club has qualified to play in the middle league this year. It would be recalled that an irate mob on Thursday, October 27 besieged the security checkpoint at Kofi Badukrom on the Ghana-Ivory Coast border for the release of the two Ivoriens. The names of the Ivoriens, being withheld for security reasons, were alleged to have shot and killed Kofi Asante,27, alias "Bushman", a Ghanaian in the bush at Kofi Badukrom.

It took the combined efforts of police personnel from Dormaa Ahenkro, security personnel at the border and the DCE several hours to bring the situation under control. The suspects placed in police custody at Dormaa Ahenkro have been transferred to Sunyani.

Meanwhile the body of Asante, a citizen of Yawkrom, a farming community has been deposited at the Presbyterian hospital mortuary at Dormaa Ahenkro pending autopsy and investigations.
