The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, has expressed concern about the low level of development in Ghana following his visit to the United States of America (USA).

He lamented the vast difference in infrastructure and economic growth between the US and Ghana, as reported in a post shared on X by EDHUB.

“Look at the nature of our roads. Look at the roads when we came to this town. So till when can we cope with these bad roads all the time? It has to change,” he said.

In a video, Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu mentioned that Ghana needs a presidential candidate who will declare their assets and vowed that such a person must be jailed if found to have acquired more while in office.

“A Ghanaian who would say that I’m standing for president. This is what I have, if you notice that I have acquired more, you should jail me. We want that person,” he stated in Twi.

He added that although he does not endorse insults, sometimes leaders need harsh words to wake them up.

Oseadeeyo said, “So, someone like Twene Jonas, Frema shows, Ohene David, and others. I don’t support insults. I am a royal, but sometimes we deserve it. I am not encouraging insults, but sometimes the animal bites with anger. If they have said it repeatedly and there is no change, why won’t they insult? They should insult us; we don’t do things well. There is no development. I am not encouraging insults. The animal bites with anger.”

He emphasized that leaders should be ready to embrace criticism and not see critics as enemies, advising that a leader who is unwilling to face criticism should work for the betterment of citizens' lives.

“We plead with leaders; you assume the role because you said you can make things better. If you know you can’t do that, then resign. You want us to vote for you, and you are scared of Twene Jonas? Then do things well.”

“They should criticise us—chiefs, pastors, politicians—they should criticise us so that we will be united to enhance development. We shouldn’t see the youth who have risen worldwide criticizing as enemies. I don’t support insults, but the truth is the truth,” he stated.

Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu added, “Yesterday, I went to downtown Manhattan; the place is beautiful. I would have gone live if I knew much about social media. I wouldn’t have insulted, but I would have spoken about what the man always talks about, ‘glass nkoaa.’ I would have showed people. It’s true. Who doesn’t want this beautiful thing in his or her country? The system is working.”

“Nananom, we plead with you; it’s not as if we support a political party when we express our grievances. Me, Agyeman Badu, I will criticize any political party that comes to power and does not perform. Whether NPP, NDC, CPP, or whoever, I will criticize. Don’t come to power if you don’t want me to criticise you,” he stated in Twi.
