A driver is on the run after causing an accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway leaving dozens severely injured.
The accident involving a waste management tanker vehicle and 207 bus happened in the early hours of Friday morning leaving all 15 passengers on board the ‘trotro’ badly injured.
The at-fault tanker driver with registration number CR-7567-10 slammed into a 207 bus with registration number GT-5213-X while initiating a u-turn making the 'trotro' rollover leaving passengers trapped in the mangled vehicle.
Bystanders immediately gathered around and helped rescue the severely injured victims who were trapped in the mangled car before the arrival of the Ghana Fire Service.
All injured passengers of the 207 bus are currently at the hospital receiving treatment whilst the driver of the tanker vehicle is still on the run.
The accident however caused massive vehicular traffic on the motorway and as at the time of this report the Ghana Police Service was yet to arrive at the scene.
