Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah, the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate for the Essikado Constituency, has furthered her drive to ensure the economic empowerment of her constituents by donating sewing machines to the Progressive Association of Tailors and Dressmakers at Kojokrom.
The donation, made on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the graduation ceremony of the association, was geared toward ensuring the successful transition of the graduates from apprentices to ‘masters,’ as it is known in the local parlance.
In a social media post, Prof. Dr. Ayensu Danquah stated that the donation was yet another indication of her commitment to the economic empowerment of the constituents.
She believes that by empowering them economically, she will be setting them on the path to success and independence, which will lead to overall development in the area.
“This generous gesture will provide these newly skilled individuals with the tools they need to launch their own businesses and contribute to the community's economic growth,” she stated.
Prof. Dr. Ayensu Danquah, who has been tipped by credible pollsters to win the seat for the NDC, has been engaging in a number of activities aimed at alleviating poverty and creating employment in the constituency.
She has organized training in dressmaking and soapmaking for a number of people in the constituency and facilitated their growth through the donation of equipment necessary for their trade to thrive.
