Former diplomat and renowned philanthropist, Dr Kwame Bawuah-Edusei is billed to chair this year’s grand durbar of Bonwire Kente Festival celebrations in the Ashanti Region.

Dr Bawuah-Edusei is the Chief Executive Officer of Edusei Foundation that seeks to promote the well-being of young people and promote the Ghanaian heritage and culture.

The event, which comes off at the Bonwire SHS School Park on Saturday, December 30, is expected to bring together distinguished traditional rulers, diplomats, members of the clergy and influential politicians.

The occasion, which is under the auspices of Bonwirehene, Nana Bobbie Ansah II and Bonwirehemaa, Nana Nyarko Frimpomaa, is premised on “promoting development through culture and heritage”.

His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II would be the special guest of honour as President Akufo-Addo would also be in attendance as the Guest Speaker at the event.

The durbar would climax the week-long celebrations of the colourful ceremony that attracts thousands of people from the diaspora annually.

On Sunday, an interdenominational church service would be held to thank participants and the people of Bonwire for their commitment towards the development of the community over the years.
