A Deputy National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Amidu Akamba has taken a swipe at Dr. Cadman Mills, brother of the late President Mills over his comments that, his brother was not treated well by his handlers at the presidency in his last days.

In a radio interview on Starr FM Wednesday evening, Dr Cadman Mills said his brother was treated ‘’shabbily’’ by his handlers.

“As far as the government is concerned and I make no difference from the NDC or NPP, they have treated president Mills shabbily,” Dr. Mills said.

“Up till this day nobody has called me to say your brother died in office and according to this report your brother is entitled to this or that.” But commenting on the issue, Mr. Akamba said, ''Dr. Mills was one of the people who was very close to the late president and cannot be out of place as one of the handlers of his late brother.''

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he questioned why he [Cadman Mills] will make such claims.

When asked if he [Cadman] could have helped the late president since he was also close to him, he said: ‘’I will leave that to the judgment of Ghanaians and you who is interviewing me that, Dr. Cadman Mills was also a member of government at that time, because he was a member of government economic team.’’ He was of the view that, if there are people who should absorb part of the blame for those who treated shabbily as he said, then he is not far from the blame.

‘’If there are people that should absorb part of the blame of the handlers of late president Mills, then am sure that Dr. Cadman Mills is not far from the blame that he thinks that he should be blaming others.’’

Mr. Joshua Amidu Akamba further stated that the claims by Dr. Cadman Mills further exonerates former president Mahama because in his [Cadman Mills’] submission he said Mr. Mahama was professionally close to Professor Mills and would not have been aware of the condition of the late president.

He said he does see anything new from what Dr. Cadman Mills has said adding, there are channels that the party uses to address concerns hence, he will advice party members to make use of such structures.

Mr. Akamba added that he learnt so much from late Mills because he was God fearing and confidently say that, Mr. Mahama and other party supporters are exhibiting the same characteristics of the late leader.

The most important thing for the party he noted is to win political power and come back victorious in 2020 and not the constant attacks and blame game or finger pointing at each other.
