Hundreds of Ghanaians from all walks of life converged at Essikado on Saturday, September 28, 2024, to witness the official launch of Professor Grace Ayensu Danquah’s campaign to wrest the Essikado-Ketan constituency seat from the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 elections.

Amid merry-making and excitement fueled by brass-band music, the enthusiastic crowd received the good news propagated by Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, who has been tipped by most credible polls to break the dominance of the NPP in the constituency.

Addressing the gathering, which included leading members of the NDC, traditional rulers, and trade organizations, Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah promised that her campaign would be anchored on two pillars – Jobs and Development.

Decrying the huge youth unemployment rate in the constituency, Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah explained that providing sustainable jobs to the constituents ranks highest on her agenda and that if given the nod, she will embark on innovations that will solve the problem.

She promised to institute developmental initiatives that will see the growth of the constituency from its current state to a level desired by the constituents.

In her view, the bid to grow the Essikado-Ketan constituency requires the support of the constituents and therefore appealed to them to elect her as their representative and afterwards work with her to achieve the set objectives for the constituency.

Her infrastructure development plans cover areas such as health, sports, roads, among others. She also vowed to ensure Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the constituency receive adequate socio-economic support.

She reminded the constituents of the need to wrest power from the NPP, both at the parliamentary and presidential levels, outlining the promises of John Mahama as the man to lead Ghana out of its current predicament.

Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah appealed to the constituents to vote massively for her and John Mahama, as the two of them will combine resources to develop the Essikado-Ketan constituency.

Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle and Deputy Minority Leader assured the constituents that John Mahama has impactful ideas for the Western Region and that voting for him and Professor Grace Ayensu Danquah will be a great step in ensuring the development of the Western Region.

He applauded Professor Grace Ayensu Danquah for her commitment to the socio-economic welfare of the people, which has seen her embark on some major initiatives as a private citizen.

On his part, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the outgoing Member of Parliament for Odododiodioo, outlined the attributes of Professor Dr. Ayensu Danquah that make her the perfect lawmaker for the constituency.

He believes that the NDC will win the elections and that Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah will deliver on her promises to the people.

Adding to the calls for the Essikado-Ketan constituency to vote for Professor Dr. Grace Ayensu Danquah was Kofi Totobi Quakyi, a former Minister of Information and leading member of the NDC, who expressed admiration at the zeal and enthusiasm shown by the NDC parliamentary candidate in her bid to improve the lives of her people.

He warned the governing New Patriotic Party and the Electoral Commission against any plans of rigging the 2024 elections, cautioning that the NDC will do everything possible to protect the wishes of Ghanaians.

The event was graced by NDC bigwigs such as Anita Desoso, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, Elikem Kotoko, among others.

The entirety of the Western Regional and Essikado constituency executives of the NDC were present.
