Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah’s tenure as CEO for KBTH ends; the board appoints an interim CEO

Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah’s tenure as Chief Executive Officer for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has concluded.

This was announced by the Board of Directors of the Hospital.

The board, in a statement, said the tenure of the CEO will officially end on October 5, 2024.

According to the hospital, effective October 6, 2024, Dr. Frank Owusu Sekyere, Director of Medical Affairs, will assume the role of interim CEO until further decisions are made by the appointing authority.

The Board also commended the outgoing CEO for what they described as his dedication and tireless efforts in steering the hospital towards excellence.

The outgoing CEO is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.

He served as Director of the National Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre.

The Board further thanked Dr. Ampomah for his service and desire for quality healthcare, stressing that his work has left a lasting impact on the hospital and the broader healthcare community.
