Drag us to The Hague: KuYA dares ‘nonentity’ D.I. boss

The Danquah Institute threatened to sue the Association for false allegations The Danquah Institute threatened to sue the Association for false allegations

The Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA) has dared the Executive Director of policy think tank Danquah Institute, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, to go to court over allegations that he and some others have insulted Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Dr. Nyarko, who has denied insulting the Asantehene, accused the group of malice.

He told Class News the association’s accusation is a deliberate attempt to court public hatred for him and his colleagues at D.I. and also fan tribal bigotry.

Dr. Nyarko, therefore, demanded a retraction of the accusation and an unqualified apology from the group by 11 May 2018 or head to court for redress.

But the Association has called his bluff.

Speaking to Class News, Secretary of KuYA, Kwabena Frimpong, said: “We realised Kingsley Nyarko wants to get some fame out of this story, secondly, he wants to just divert attention and take all the blame. He wants Gabby and Bediatuo to be free and take the blame and we’re not ready to respond to him. He says he’s going to court, he should go to court and we’ll meet him there. If you meet him, tell him for me that I said he can go to the Hague…Kingsley Nyarko is a nonentity and we don’t want to deal with non- entities, we don’t have time for him.”
