Dressmakers advised not to sew indecent dresses

Kumasi, Nov. 4, GNA- The Reverend Father Michael Appau of the Holy Cross Catholic Parish at Nzema in Kumasi, has spoken against indecent dressing in the society and asked tailors and dressmakers not to be enticed by money to sew indecent dresses.

He said if tailors and dressmakers allowed themselves to be enticed by money to create indecency in dressing, they would be worsening indiscipline in the society.

The Reverend Father Appau expressed said this at the 8th graduation ceremony of tailors and dressmakers at Kwadaso in Kumasi of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) on Monday.

The 45 dressmakers underwent three years of apprenticeship and were presented with certificates.

He told the tailors and the dressmakers to resist the temptation and point out to them the effects of indecent dressing.

Mr Amoah Rabbi Kudjoe, the Vice-Chairman of the Kwadaso zone of the association, reminded them that they could impact positively on society by training the unemployed youth in their neighbourhood to be self-employed.

He advised parents to assist their wards who complete their training with some capital to open their own shops.
