Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah has challenged young entrepreneurs to champion government’s idea of Ghana beyond aid by ensuring that their start-ups grow into well established businesses.

According to him, young entrepreneurs have the creativity, zest and innovation to promote the Ghana beyond aid agenda.

He made this call to action at a youth entrepreneurship forum organized by the National Youth Authority in collaboration with the Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAYE).

“Ghana beyond aid starts from you. You are creative, very innovative. You’ve got the energy to drive the agenda of Ghana beyond aid. This forum, by the time we are done, would have achieved a very important mission of encouraging the youth to go into businesses so that eventually government does not always have to go round looking for aid”, Mr. Asiamah said.

The Ghana beyond aid agenda, which seeks to promote efficient management of its resources to end the over-reliance on foreign aid for development, has been the mantra of President Akufo-Addo since he assumed office.

During the recently held 61st Independence Day celebration, President Akufo-Addo outlined policies for the ‘Ghana beyond aid’ agenda, which included setting up a strong macro-economy, creating more jobs, promoting infrastructural development as well as digitizing Ghana.
