Dromankese to build a vocational centre

Dromankese (B/A), July 16, GNA - The chiefs and people of Dromankese, a farming community in the Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo, have called for the establishment of a vocational centre in the area to enable the youth to acquire skills.

Mr Opoku Bora, Assembly Member for Nyinakofiase in Dromankese, made the appeal on behalf of the community at the weekend during a visit by Captain Nkrabea Effah-Dartey (RTD), a Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development to the area.

The Assembly Member appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to reshape the road from Nkoranza through Dromankese to Atebubu. He also called for the opening of a Police Station to ensure peace and security in the area.

Capt. Effah-Dartey noted that some Junior Secondary School students from the area were unable to further their education due to the inability of their parents to support them.

He said the establishment of the centre would help address such problems and enable the unemployed youth to acquire skills. Capt. Effah-Dartey promised to provide 200 bags of cement towards the construction of the centre.

Mr Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, District Chief Executive, commended the people for their communal spirit especially in constructing a police station to be commissioned soon.
