E/R NDC express confidence in President Mills

Koforidua, Jan. 17, GNA – The Eastern Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has renewed its confidence in the leadership of President John Evans Atta Mills to win the coming elections.

It appealed to all supporters of the party in the region to remain focused and avoid being distracted from their goal.

Mr Anthony Gyampoh, the Eastern Regional Secretary of the party, said this at a press conference organized on Tuesday to address their stance on the spread of campaign posters of a former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, as the presidential candidate of the party in some parts of the Region.

He said the office of the former first lady had denied any knowledge of the posters and appealed to the security agents to investigate the matter and prosecute the people behind the act.

Mr Gyampoh said it was too early to appoint accusing fingers at anybody adding that the last time similar incident occurred, large copies of the posters were traced to the Abetifi Constituency Office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Present at the press conference were the Regional Vice-Chairman of the party, Alhaji Sumaila Mahama, Regional Women’s Organizer, Ms Evelyn Korang and Regional Organizer, Mr Bismark Tawiah Boateng.
