EL-Dunamis Minstrels donates to Teshie Orphanage

EL-Dunamis Minstrels, a gospel singing group, on Tuesday in their maiden visit, donated items worth GH?2,500 to the Teshie Orphanage to help the inmates enjoy the festive season.

The group, which was drawn from young talented students of the Osu Presbyterian Secondary School, are being trained to become more skilful and sufficient in society.

Pastor Samson Okai, Leader of the group and Resident Pastor at Champion Faith Community Chapel, said the donation was made to share with the less privileged of the orphanage, adding that it is as well biblical and mandatory for society to support the needy.

The items donated included basket of fresh tomatoes, soft drinks, bags of rice, cartons of ideal milk, toiletries, detergents, sacks of tubers of yam, sack of onion, sack of corn, mackerel, tomato paste and four gallons of cooking oil.

Mr Okai said the donation was to ensure that the orphanage have enough of food during and after the Christmas celebration.

He said the group would as well train two inmates to become good violin, trumpet and guitar handlers in the society to enable them pick up skills in the musical realm.

Mr Okai said this training is to help more talented children, to help curtail the rate of social vices in the country.

He, however, called on stakeholders and institutions to partner with them to enable the group achieve greater heights in the country.

Ms Janet Afoley, Assistant Founder of the Orphanage, thanked the group for the gesture, adding that it was timely, since they depend on such donations in the day-to-day running of the orphanage.
