EP Church celebrates centenary

Kpetoe (V/R), March 14, GNA - The Right Reverend Dr Livingstone Buama, Moderator of the E.P. Church, on Sunday exhorted the Christian community in Ghana to wage a crusade against negative thinking among the society.

"Let us live in a state of positive defiance against negativity", Dr Buama told the congregation at the centenary celebration of the Church at Agotime-Kpetoe.

The celebration was under the theme: "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light".

Dr Buama said negative thinking was a mark of lack of faith in God to make the seemingly impossible possible.

He said the biblical episode in which God empowered Ezekiel to raise an army out of skeletons, and the raising from the dead of Lazarus by Jesus Christ when all hope was lost, were important events bearing testimony to the unlimited power of God to make impossibilities possibilities.

Nene Nuer Keteku III, Konor of Agotime, observed that the centenary celebration was a celebration of the advent of Christianity in the traditional area 100 years ago.

He said the coming of the E.P. Church made life better for the people through formal education and the gospel.

Nene Keteku, however, expressed regret that education and morality, which the church brought along several years ago was backsliding even though more churches had since joined the E.P. Church in the area. He called on the Christian community in the area to move closer to those who were yet to convert to the Christian faith and convince them to do so instead of condemning them.
