Easter - Kumasi

Right Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, Bishop of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church has said that the resurrection of Christ has given mankind the message of newness of hope and life. He has therefore asked Christians to use the occasion and turn a new leaf in their lives and contribute positively towards development of the country.

Right Reverend Asante was delivering the sermon at the Wesley Cathedral at Adum in Kumasi on Sunday to mark the resurrection of Christ. Preaching under the theme; "Christ the Conqueror of Death and Hell is Risen," he said, "the resurrection of Christ indeed has become the celebration of God's comfort and assurance to those who have committed their lives to him".

He said the occasion was therefore to commemorate the victory of life over death, hope over hopelessness and reconciliation over enmity. The Bishop appealed to Ghanaians to be committed and dedicated to the worship of God so that their difficulties and sufferings would be minimized.

Right Reverend Asante reminded Christians to intensify their evangelism activities and programmes to win more souls for Christ and also to transform society.

Preaching the sermon at Bantama Peyer Memorial Congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Kumasi, Reverend Peter Kofi Nyarkoh, Minister in-charge, warned Ghanaians against divided ideology, power struggling and other negative practices. He noted that the development of the country depended on the collective responsibilities of the people to work harder to supplement the efforts of the Government towards nation-building. Reverend Nyarkoh advised Ghanaians to rededicate themselves to the worship of God to ensure accelerated growth and prosperity of the country.
