Easter - Takoradi

Elder J. K. Gaisie of the Takoradi Central Assembly of the Church of Pentecost said what was important is for Christians to acknowledge God's presence in their lives and obey His commandments for peace and brotherly love to prevail.

He said "with the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has granted you salvation, therefore you have no business carrying the sins any longer".

Elder Gaisie was preaching the sermon at the Takoradi Jubilee Park on Friday to begin a three-day convention of the Takoradi zone of the Church of Pentecost.

The theme for the convention is "Jesus Christ, the resurrection and the life".

The convention would among others hold seminars for the various groups of the church, which include teenagers, the elderly, married couples among others on various topics. Elder Gaisie said Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross on his own volition to save man and therefore "He is ever prepared to accept and make them new, all those who genuinely seek him and accept him as their saviour".

He also advised Christians to love one another and live at peace with all people, including non-Christians. Pastor Steve Miller, Takoradi East District Pastor of the Church, who presided, asked Christians to pray constantly and lead exemplary lives in their communities.
