Esiama (W/R), June 23 GNA - The Eastern Nzema Traditional Council, has commended President John Atta Mills for appointing a number of Nzema citizens to serve in his government.
According to the chiefs the government has appointed five persons from the two Nzema districts to serve in his government, a situation they described as very laudable and encouraging.
They mentioned the personalities as Dr George Sipa Yankey, Minister for Health, the MP for Ellembelle, Mr Armah Kofi Buah as Deputy Minister for Energy, Mr Peter Blay, Chief of Defence Staff, (CDS), Mr Lee Ocran as Ambassador, and Mr Kaku Korsah as Chairman of the Board of Governors of MASLOC, a micro credit finance company.
Nana Etwi Kpanyinli IV, acting President of the Council, made the congratulation when members of the Traditional Council met with the Ellembelle District Assembly to chart a common path for the speedy development of the area at Esiama.
In attendance included the DCE for Ellembelle, Mr Daniel Eshun, Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr Dominic Nyanzu, the NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr Francis Kwesi Berveh, and the MCE for Nzema-East, Rev James Ackah-Cobbinah. The rest were the Chief of Kikam, Nana Eduku Kanra 11 and Nana Ehoma Kpanyinli, Chief of Awiebo.
Nana Etwi who is also the Chief of Aiyinasi, said President Atta Mills had fulfilled part of his campaign pledge to Nzemaland and urged the people in the area to rally behind the government for accelerated development.
Mr Eshun on behalf of the Assembly and his counterpart in the Nzema East, thanked the Traditional Council and the people in the constituency for voting Mr Armah Kofi Buah to parliament. He advised the people in the area to unite and ensure peace for rapid socio-economic development.
