Eastern Regional Minister pledges support for newly elected candidate

The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwaakye Darfour, has pledged his unflinching support for the newly elected Parliamentary candidate for Nkawkaw, Joseph Frimpong.

Joseph Frimpong is the Constituency Organiser before being elected Parliamentary candidate in the NPP primaries held earlier Saturday, June 20.

Mr. Kwaakye Darfour polled 159 votes behind Joseph Frimpong who also polled 206 votes in a contest that saw a total of five candidates contesting.

In his WhatsApp message to party members on Saturday evening, Mr. Darfour said, "with much gratitude, I want to thank everybody for their support over the years of my tenure as Parliamentary Candidate for this cherished constituency."

He further stated that "Delegates who are ultimately the mouthpiece of the people have spoken earlier today. I accept their choice and what to say a big thank you to everyone who took time off to help this process.

"Warm congratulations to Mr. Joseph Frimpong, the newly elected parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the constituency. I wish you the very best in this endeavor."

According to Mr. Darfour, the party needs to move on after the primaries by coming together as one people to support the elected candidate to hoist the flag of the NPP and Ghana high.

"I pledge my support to Mr. Joseph Frimpong and will support as much as I can with his endeavors," he stressed.
