The Eastern Regional Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday ‘snubbed’ Alban Bagbin, one of the flagbearer hopefuls of the party when he sought to meet with them during his tour of the region.
Bagbin who is also the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament was at the party’s regional headquarters to meet the executives as part of his nationwide campaign tour, however, only a handful of them turned up.
They were; the Regional Organiser Hackman Kabore and his deputy, Kudjo Adukpo, Regional Youth Organiser Richard Nyarko, Deputy Treasure, Obibini Richard, and the Deputy Regional Communications Officer, Ofoei Akorli.
Bagbin was visibly not happy with the attendance but went ahead to persuade the few executives to support and vote for him for a paradigm shift in the affairs of the party and to recapture power in 2020.
He declined media interview after the meeting but hastened to state that he will return to the region to begin a full campaign to engage the constituencies.
When Starr News contacted the Regional Communications Officer of the Party, Dallas Williams, he blamed the absence of most of the regional executives on communication infractions.
“The information on his coming to the region was not disseminated to us on time……we were aware but was waiting for confirmation which never came.”
