According to Abeiku Santana, a member of the management team of Ebony Reigns, they only know of Ebony’s friend, Francisca Nkansah Kuri, who also died in the crash.
“I do not know any driver, the car doesn’t belong to her… but I know the other lady who is a friend and a member of the team as well. I do not even know the military officer as well.” He was quoted as saying when Citi FM called him in respect of the unfortunate incident.
But Nana Opoku Kwarteng, father of Ebony in his first ever interview after the incident, disclosed that Lance Corporal Vondee Francis Atsu, aged 29 years was a personal bodyguard to the late dancehall artiste.
He disclosed during an interview on Joy News that prior to their departure to Sunyani on the day of the incident which is another subject of contention, Ebony indicated that she was traveling with her driver Chartey Oko who is currently on admission at Bechem Government Hospital receiving treatment and two others.
Nana Opoku Kwarteng said he cautioned his daughter and wished her well but in what appears to be an image-saving attempt, Abeiku Santana tried denying the driver and soldier until he was exposed.
“She left home on Thursday saying she was going to see her mum. The Mum just returned from the United Kingdom and she said she was going to see her. I asked if she was driving herself because it was late. She told me she was going with her driver, her bodyguard who was a soldier and a friend. It was around 10 PM”, Nana Opoku Kwarteng revealed.
