This agreement will allow Ghana Post to market selected Ecobank products and services in Post Office branches throughout Ghana.

The Managing Director of Ecobank, Dan Sackey, stated at the official signing event that the agreement was part of efforts to provide access to cheaper banking tools to equip Ghana's largely unbanked and underserved people to perform everyday banking transactions without visiting the bank.

"We do this to ensure that underserved markets become financially literate, as a means of achieving financial freedom, as we plan to deepen financial inclusion in Ghana,” he explained.

He stated that the bank is "dedicated to leveraging technology and third-party partnerships to provide flexible financial products and services to our customers."

Ecobank currently has Agency Banking Partnerships with Vivo Ghana (Shell) and Melcom.

Dan Sackey stated that the collaboration will "accelerate the efforts of Ghana Post's new management to transform the entity into a multi-service one-stop shop offering a wide variety of services, including serving as an Ecobank Xpress Point Agent."

"This will assist Ghana Post in diversifying its revenue sources while also creating jobs for Ghanaians and upskilling their employees."

"We believe that by collaborating with partners such as Ghana Post, banking services will become more accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live or their income," he added.
