The editor-in Chief of the Independent Newspaper in Gambia Musa SaidyKhan was arrested last Thursdays for questioning by agents of National Intelligence Agency (NIA) whereas no official reasons were assigned for his arrested, the edited recounted that his discussion with the NIA centred around the report that;

? His papers coverage of the killings of Ghanaians in the Gambia.
It may be recalled in December 2004, the editor of the Point newspaper was gunned down to death, this issue has remained unresolved, it came up for discuss at the last meeting of the African Editors Forum (TAEF) in Johannesburg South Africa with Musa SaidyKhan in attendance.
The independent, has been the main paper in The Gambia that has showed interest in the killing of Ghanaians in the Gambia. It has in itself relied on what has mainly been reported by the external media since there is a total blackout from Government source.
Mr SaidyKhan who reported to the NIA from home on was finally release last Friday. Reports indicate that he remains upbeat about his arrest.
