New Patriotic Party's 1st Vice Chairman for Asokwa constituency, Edmund Kyei has appealed to the party's striking serial callers to calm down.
Sounding alarmed and worried in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, he said "It saddens me to know that people who voluntarily communicate for the party agitate in such a manner. As a Communications Professional, I understand what it means to lose such people, but I can sincerely assure them of the party's readiness to heed to their plea."
Some disappointed New Patriotic Party (NPP) serial callers in the Ashanti Region are up in arms against the leadership of the party and government – the callers have burned every communication gadget the party has procured for them for communication purposes in defense of government policies and programmes.
The serial callers who claim they have been abandoned whiles those at the echelons of power are ‘chopping’ with impunity have warned their members in their region to desist from further calling or texting into local radio stations on behalf of government henceforth.
But Mr. Kyei stressed that the NPP government led by President Nana Akufo-Addo is working around the clock to assist them.
"President Akufo-Addo is a listening president, and he's committed to fulfilling every promise made to Ghanaians, so they shouldn't panic. He has heard their cry and will act soon," he said.
"While you remain calm, I'll also plead with you to keep supporting the party. We need you now like always. Your loyalty will be rewarded," he added.
The Asokwa constituency 1st Vice Chairman called on the serial callers to remain resolute while their concerns are being addressed.
