Education director advises students against examination malpractices

Cape Coast, July 4, GNA- The Central Regional director of education, Mrs Justina Torjagbo, on Monday advised students to refrain from any form of examination malpractice during this year's Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) to avoid cancellation of papers. Mrs Torjagbo, who toured some of the secondary schools in the Cape Coast Municipality to ascertain whether all was well at the various examination centres wished the candidates well and also cautioned them to desist from any act that would lead to the cancellation of their papers.

In all 5778 candidates from all the 19 schools in the municipality are expected to write the one month long examination which took off on Monday.

When the GNA visited some of the schools, including Mfantsipim, Oguaa Secondary Technical, Aggrey Memorial Zion Secondary, Ghana National and Holy Child Schools, the students were busily having their oral English exams under strict supervision from invigilators and police personnel.

At Oguaa Sec. Tec., the Headmistress, Mrs Marian Bentil said two, out of the 269 candidates were absent, while three of the 561 students at Mfantsipim were also not present. At Holy Child College, all the 233 candidates were present with Aggrey and Adisadel recording two absentees each of the 900 and 508 candidates presented, respectively. 04 July, 05
