Education is the tool for development- Chief

Gomoa Assin (C/R), March 19, GNA- Nana Atakyi Fuyah, Benkumhene of the Benkum Division of Gomoa Assin Traditional Area has observed that education is the effective tool for the development of every nation. He said efforts should therefore be made by chiefs, government and other stakeholders to raise the academic standard to ensure speedy development of science and technology.

Nana Fuyah announced this at a meeting with chiefs and elders at Gomoa Adaa Traditional Council.

He said the world is now a global village, due to modern technology.

Nana Fuyah noted that of late, the performance of the school children are nothing to write home about, citing an example of the last year's BECE examination results where seven schools in the Gomoa district had zero percent.

He asked parents and guardians to help send their children and wards to school especially the girl-child since education is the key to success.

On the on-going voters registration exercise, the Benkumhene urged the chiefs and elders to join the Electoral Commission (EC) to educate all eligible voters in the district to register and vote in December. The Chief of Gomoa Adaa, Nana Okotwere Bekoe in welcoming address urged the people in the town to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme especially farmers to cater for their health needs.
