Effutu Municipal to get SHS

The Central Regional Minister, Mr. Aquinas Tawiah Quansah has commended the Chiefs and Elders of Effutu Ateitu for releasing an 18 acre land for the construction of a Community Senior High Scholl (SHS) in the area.

Mr Quansah made the commendation at a ceremony to commence the project at Effutu Ateitu, a community in the Effutu Municipality.

According to the Minister, who is also the Acting Chief Executive for Effutu Municipality, the project was a World Bank sponsored project.

The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and would help the youth in the area to to get admission to SHS.

He appealed to the chiefs and the entire people of the community to support the contractors to complete the project on schedule.

Mr. Patrick Arthur, a representative from the Ministry of Education, urged the contractor to execute the work on time as per the contract agreement.

He said the project was a three storey building, which includes teachers’ bungalow, playing field, a library and offices.

Mrs. Hilda Hagan, Effutu Municipal Director of Education expressed her appreciation to the government for selecting the municipality as one of the beneficiaries of the SHS projects and hoped that when it completed, it will reduce the burden of parents getting admission for their children to SHS and also help promote education in the municipality.

Nana Oboosu II, Chief of Effutu Atietu on behalf of Neenyi Ghartey VII, Paramount Chief of Effutu Traditional Area, and Members of the Traditional Council expressed their appreciation to the government for the gesture and promised to support the contractor to execute the project

Mr Quansah and Neenyi Oboosu II cut a sod to signify the commencement of the project.
