The family of the late Mrs. Efua Sutherland has formally informed the President, Flt-Lt. J.J Rawlings of her death. The delegation which was led by Mr Acquah Moses, presented drinks as custom demands. President Rawlings described Mrs Sutherland as a woman of high intellect who took her roots from wisdom of Ghanaian tradition. He commended Mrs Sutherland for her role in the creation of the Ridge ChildrenAEs Park and suggested that the park be named after her. He said her departure is most unfortunate and we must all see to it that seeds that she had sown are nurtured. The Special Assistant to the President, Mr Nathan Quao, said Mrs. Sutherland was a remarkable personality, who devoted her life to education and the development of arts. She believed in the Ghanaian culture, folklore and tradition, and through drama gave meaning to them. Mrs. Efua Sutherland will be laid in state on the 9th of this month at Du Bois Centre, in Accra
