Ejura (Ash), June 8, GNA- Madam Elizabeth Owusu, Ejura-Sekyedumase District Chief Executive on Thursday presented a number of English books to the office of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Mampong Ashanti. This was in recognition of the Agency's coverage of the rural communities thereby bringing to the public, government's efforts of developing the area.
Making the presentation, Madam Owusu said there had been significant socio-economic development of the rural communities, which had been neglected over the years.
She said the GNA was helping to bring these developments to the knowledge of every Ghanaian.
Madam Owusu noted that some people have realised that the rural development agenda of the government had progressed steadily and that they found it difficult to defeat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in any elections.
The DCE said there had been reported cases of burglary and molestation by opponents of the government in some urban areas all designed to give the government a bad image and warned that the NPP would not sit down and allow a group of people to sabotage its efforts. She therefore, called on NPP supporters to report anybody found committing any criminal offence to the police.
Mr Rex Annan, the Sekyere West District Manager of the GNA who received the books, expressed the Agency's appreciation to the DCE and said the books would be help to the office.
