Magdalene's parents Professor Karl Erik-Eriksson and Mrs Christina Eriksson were enstooled "Mpuntuhene" (development chief) and "Mpuntuhemaa" (development queen) about 10 years ago. Prof. Erik-Eriksson' family's association with the people of Edumafa was initiated by Prof. F K A Allotey, a renowned Ghanaian Scientist and a citizen of the community.

In a speech at a durbar to outdoor the Nketesiahemaa and also mark this year's Aryerye festival, Nana Amoah Sekyi II, Tufuhene commended the Erik-Eriksson family for their immense contribution to the development of the town.

Nana Sekyi explained that the enstoolment of their daughter as Nketesiahemaa to be in charge of the young girls was to ensure continuity of the relationship that had been established between the family even after the death of her parents.

He appealed to the new queen to institute measures to curb teenage pregnancy, child trafficking and school dropout among girls. Otwaesa Edumadze VII, chief of Edumafa appealed to the family to establish exchange programmes between the people of Sweden and the community to enhance learning of the socio-cultural practices between the two peoples.

He called for unity to accelerate development of the community. Nana Nyena who was named after Prof. Allotey's mother, promised to follow the footsteps of her parents. She is currently living and working in the United States of America. 16 Nov. 06
