Former President Jerry Rawlings has urged delegates of the ruling National Democratic Congress to elect his spokesperson, Kofi Adams, as National Organiser in the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
“If anybody wants the good of the party, then they should be going in for people like Kofi Adams.
“I would have loved to have Kofi Adams working with me full time but why should I; when he is needed and could do a better job for the party,” the former military leader told Adom FM on Thursday.
Adams, who is currently the deputy general secretary of the NDC, is contesting incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan for the National Organiser position.
According to Rawlings: “A certain amount of the current executives must be thrown out and replaced with people with merit, logic and integrity. This is the only way the party can win elections and bring back the value that gave birth to the party.
“The party will be seeking its own doom if these corrupt officials are not replaced but are re-elected.”
