The Mankrado of Battor Traditional Area in the North Tongu district of the Volta region, Togbe Borbordzi VII, has stated that the Hohoe constituency in the region has seen an appreciable development under John Peter Amewu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
John Peter Amewu is the only New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP in the region.
He won the Hohoe seat in the 2020 general elections with a margin of over 1,500 votes.
Speaking on this year's election, Togbe Borbordzi said giving the mandate to different political party representatives in parliament will foster the development of the various constituencies.
"We shouldn't follow one person forever; we should be able to change our style. Especially, I love Hohoe, the way they are at the centre, it means that in the Hohoe area, any party that will mess up will be left out. I think it is a good move," he said.
The Chief mentioned this at a press briefing he organized in Battor to address the dam spillage in the district.
He urged the next leader of the country to normalize the country's industrialization through tax exemptions, good export and import policies, and other key areas for nation-building.
