The Deputy Campaign Coordinator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chief Hamilton Nixon Biney, has described the upcoming December general election as a crucial effort to rescue Ghanaians from economic “slavery” under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Speaking at the 15th-anniversary celebration of the Kumasi Kejetia Umbrella Movement of the NDC, Mr. Biney urged party members to unite and campaign vigorously to secure victory.
He noted that Ghanaians are suffering economically under the NPP government.
Mr. Biney emphasized the need for collective action, likening the election to "communal labour" necessary to "rescue Ghanaians from slavery."
He, therefore, called on the NDC to unite and work hard towards the December polls while urging the electorate to vote for the party, as a vote for the NDC will bring about improvement in the country’s economic situation.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Andrew Nana Kwasi, also spoke at the event, dismissing claims made by the NPP's Ashanti Regional Chairman asserting that there are 1,000 ways for the NPP to win these elections.
He assured party members and supporters that the NDC would be vigilant in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
