Petitioners in the ongoing Election Fraud case before the Supreme Court say they are unperturbed about the influx of supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) joining the case.
The Daily Guide newspaper on Wednesday reported that over Five hundred perceived supporters of the NDC have filed writs to be joined to the case in which three leading members of the NPP is challenging the results.
The paper added that as at Tuesday close to 40 groups, comprising over 500 individuals of the NDC had filed at the Supreme Court Registry and there were fears that it could even be more.
The joinder applications by the NDC supporters, according to the NPP, are a ploy to delay the court process.
But the party’s General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, in an interview with XYZ News said he believes the Supreme Court will throw the applications away.
“I can tell you that cool heads will prevail and the 500 or so people will be out. The fact that the NDC itself or John Mahama is in court doesn’t give party individuals the right to join the matter,” he asserted.
