The Executive Director of the Head Of States Awards Scheme (HOSA), Peter A. Anum has encouraged students to embrace failure as a necessary step toward success during the institution’s 28th matriculation ceremony.

Speaking at the event, which also marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the students, Peter Anum emphasized that failure should be viewed as a valuable learning experience rather than a setback, urging the new students to approach their education with courage and determination.

Delivering a powerful speech on the theme “Unlocking Possibilities,” Peter Anum stressed that education at Blue Crest is not just about acquiring knowledge but about building skills, fostering a growth mindset, and developing character. He noted that the theme embodies the transformative power of self-belief and education, encouraging students to see their time at the university as a chance to discover and unlock their full potential.

“It’s the 28th matriculation ceremony of this great institution, helping to shape the socio-economic fortunes of this country through quality education,” Anum stated. He reminded students that challenges will arise, but it is during such times that they must tap into their inner strength and resilience.

“Failure is not a dead end but a stepping stone on the path to success. Every setback brings you one step closer to your goals, as it reveals areas for improvement and strengthens your resilience.”

He outlined seven key strategies for unlocking one’s potential, including believing in oneself, setting clear goals, taking consistent action, and embracing continuous learning. He emphasized that the journey toward success is not linear, but with persistence and the right mindset, students can achieve greatness.

He also highlighted the importance of surrounding oneself with positivity, stating that the right company can influence one’s mindset and help in overcoming obstacles. “Seek out mentors, join communities of like-minded individuals, and engage in constructive conversations,” he advised.

The ceremony, held at the Blue Crest University College campus in Accra, welcomed a total of 280 new students into programs ranging from Information Technology (98 students), Fashion (102 students), Business (42 students), and various certificate courses. Group CEO of Blue Crest Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, Pankaj Maheshwari, also expressed his gratitude to the parents and loved ones who attended the ceremony in support of the students.
