The National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, has kick-started moves to continue representing the people of the Ho West Constituency in Ghana’s legislature.
The astute politician had a team led by Moses Adzei pick a nomination form on his behalf to contest in the opposition party’s upcoming parliamentary primary slated for August 24th, 2019.
A communique issued and signed by Edwin Kwame Koge, the RA, at the Office of the Ho West MP, urged delegates to renew Mr Bedzrah’s mandate to enable him to continue a committed course aimed at improving livelihoods of constituents.
“We are sure that your decisions as delegates on August 24, 2019 will reaffirm your satisfaction in the performance of Hon. Bedzrah as he seeks to continue with his good works for the constituency”, the communique stated.
Hon Bedzrah would be battling Lawyer Eric Alifo and Samuel Danku Kofi for the NDC Parliamentary Candidate slot for Ho West.
He is a ranking member on the Works and Housing Committee and serves on the Standing Order and House Committees.
Hon Bedzrah who holds a Masters in Development Management has contributed his expertise in shaping the nation’s developmental agenda.
Nonetheless, some 74 individuals in totality have picked nomination forms to contest the NDC primaries across the Volta Region, excluding the Hohoe Constituency where the closing of nominations has been extended to Tuesday, July 16, 2019.
Eight aspirants, including former Deputy Tourism Minister, Dzifa Gomashie would be contesting the primaries in the Ketu South Constituency, where the incumbent MP, Fifi Fiave Kwetey had apparently decided not to seek renewal of his mandate, as he failed to pick the nomination form.
The Anlo constituency would witness a contest between 8 aspirants, excluding the incumbent MP Clement Kofi Humado. Same implies in the Keta Constituency where 6 aspirants would be contesting the primaries without the incumbent MP, Richard Quarshigah.
The Agortime Ziope MP, Charles Agbeve awaits popular acclamation to contest the 2020 parliamentary elections on the ticket of the NDC, since no other member picked nomination form to contest him in the primaries.
