Residents along Yong and Dakpemyili communities within the Tamale Metropolis can now heave a sigh of relief after the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations and Member of Parliament for Tamale South Haruna Iddrisu, has honoured his promised of tarring the road in the area.
The minister during his routine community visits, told residents tarring the only road to the area linking the Tamale metropolis remained one of his priorities and was therefore determined to execute it.
According to him, a contractor had already been engaged and was about to relocate to site prior to the visit appealing to residents who complained about the deplorable state of the road during the raining season to be patient.
Few months after the promise, the minister has addressed the concerns of residents who are now full of praise and promised to mandate him another term in parliament at the December 7 polls.
“We are very happy that the road has finally been tarred and can now move to and from town without any problem or even getting stuck in the mud when it rains. Thank you lawyer Haruna”, an opinion leader disclosed.
The Minister prior to the completion of the project, urged the contractors to do a good job indicating that he will personally hold them liable for any shoddy work.
He has been credited for tarred roads at Sawaba, Industrial area, Nakpazoo and Kakpayili Yong and has underscored the significance of the roads which are being given a major facelift, indicating that they will link the beneficiary communities to the central business district especially during the raining season.
