AriseGhana has declared its decision to join the ‘Enough Is Enough’ demonstration to be organised by the National Democratic Congress against the Electoral Commission over infractions related to the 2024 voter register.

In a statement signed by the Convenor, Rex Omar, the group said their decision was necessitated following the electoral body’s handling of critical issues and irregularities raised by the NDC, as well as their demand for a forensic audit of the provisional voter register ahead of the December polls.

“Having keenly observed the belligerent posture of the Electoral Commission on the haphazard and ill manner in which it is handling the critical issue of a Voters’ Register for the 2024 elections, we have been compelled to join the 'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH DEMONSTRATION,'" the statement said.

AriseGhana further described the alleged attempt by the Electoral Commission to employ and adopt schemes to favor the ruling government as unacceptable, unethical and immoral.

“AriseGhana is unable to appreciate the Electoral Commission’s haste to plunge our dear country into chaos by adopting all manner of schemes to favor the insensitive, incompetent and corrupt governing party at the polls on December 7th, 2024. This is highly unacceptable, unethical and immoral,” it added.

The NDC, through the ‘Enough Is Enough’ demonstration scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2024, across all regions, seeks to demand that the Electoral Commission ensures a free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections on December 7.
