Ensure peaceful election – Ghanaians urged

Ghanaians have been urged to ensure peace before, during and after the December general elections, to sustain the stability that the country has been enjoying since the advent of constitutional rule.

In this direction, a special musical show dubbed; ”Peace is the way 2012, musical concert,” will take place on Ghana’s 52nd Republic Day anniversary on Sunday July 1, at the Assemblies of God (AG) International Church, formerly Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) in Kumasi.

Briefing newsmen on the initiative, Mr. Samuel F. Awuku of Multi-Gold Networks, said the organisation would stage the show in collaboration with the CCC Assemblies of God International Church, to sensitise the people on the need to ensure a peaceful election.

He said the event would also be used to raise funds to assist Tuberclosis (TB) patients and the Save a Kidney Foundation to ensure a healthy society, adding that “we should all be our brother’s keeper”.

Mr. Awuku said the show will feature some of the nation’s crack gospel musicians including Esther Smith and friends; DSP Kofi Sarpong, Selina Boateng, Cecilia Marfo, born-again artiste, Lord Kenya and a host of other artistes.

Dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include Vice President John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, New Patriotic Party’s Vice Presidential Candidate for the December election.

Mr. Awuku urged Ghanaians especially those in and around the Kumasi metropolis to turn up in their numbers to enjoy the Republic Day celebration, while supporting a worthy course.**
