Tarkwa (W/R), Feb 27 GNA - His Eminence Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson has ended his two-day visit to the Tarkwa Denary of the Catholic Church with the celebration of a Pontifical High Mass at the Tarkwa Saint Matthew's Church at which he called on Christians to live by the teachings of the Bible.
He said Christians should eschew all forms of vices and lead the crusade against indiscipline in the society so that the people would have favour with God.
"God needs all people to work for peace, love and salvation, you should, therefore, give proof of your stewardship wherever you may find yourself."
Cardinal Appiah Turkson warned church leaders against the acquisition of wealth at the expense of God's work, adding: "You should resist this temptation because God will not abandon his honest and faithful workers."
Osagyefo Kwamena Enimil VI, Omanhene of Wassa Fiase Traditional Area, described Cardinal Appiah Turkson's elevation as "God sent" and said this must be shared by all Ghanaians.
He asked Christians to pray for and support Cardinal Appiah Turkson whom he said from a humble beginning rose to dizzy heights out of humility and hard work and added that this should be an inspiration to the youth.
Osagyefo Enimil announced that the proposed Fiaseman Education Endowment Fund would be launched in April this year to support Government's efforts to provide quality education for the people of the area.
