Esseku is Dishonest - Northern Reg. NPP Chairman

The Northern regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Alhaji Salifu Abdul-Rahman C.O.P has taken issue with the national chairman of the party, Harouna Esseku accusing him of dishonesty.

Alhaji C.O.P expressed dismay about Mr Esseku?s approval of an aspirant for the Northern regional Chairmanship slot, Bugri Naabu who has been disqualified by the National Executive of the party. Alhaji C.O.P had earlier challenged the legality of membership of Mr Bugri Naabu to contest the Northern regional NPP chairmanship position because he had cross over to the NDC after the 1996 elections. Though Mr Bugri Naabu said he had come back to the NPP and had since been paying his dues. According to Alhaji C.O.P the national executive of the party held a meeting on the issue where the national chairman ordered the Acting National secretary to nullify Mr Bugri Naabu?s candidacy because he had not officially written to the party for his come back.

In an interview with Justice News after a launch of a campaign to retain his position, Alhaji C.O.P said he was however dismayed when he heard on air that Haruna Esseku had taken a u-turn to approve of the candidacy of Mr Bugri Naabu. He therefore called on the national executive of the party to bring Mr Esseku to order before he drags the party to the mud.
