Kumasi April 28 GNA - A Kumasi Circuit Court has sentenced a 40-year-old estate agent, Kwaku Boye, to 24 months' imprisonment for theft.
He pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy, unlawful entry and stealing. His two other accomplices named only as Antwi and Kwadwo are on the run.
Police Chief Inspector Hajia Victoria Baduanah told the court that the two suspects now on the run assisted Mr Edward Adiyia, a businessman, to secure a room.
In March when Mr Adiyia travelled outside the country, they entered the room with a duplicate key and stole the furniture, DVD player, a woollen carpet and a ceiling fan.
They attempted to rent the room to another person but the new tenant alerted the landlord. A meeting was arranged at which the new tenant was to pay the rent advance but only Boye showed up and he was arrested and handed over to the police.
