The Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG) has elected a new Presbyter Executive (P.E) at an Extra-Ordinary General Assembly held at the Kekeli Hotel, Ho from August 24 – 26, 2018.

The Presbyter Executive who is the lay member of the General Assembly Standing Committee is constitutionally mandated to generally assist the Moderator of the General Assembly and the Clerk of the General Assembly in the daily administration of the Church among other responsibilities.

Presbyter Charles Sitsofe Sakyi, who is a member of the Ashanti Presbytery is a Development Management and Administration Specialist with over 32 years work experience with local and international agencies.

His vision for the church is to focus on advocacy for skill development and decentralization of operations of Evangelical Presbyterian Development and Relief Agency (EPDRA) - a non-governmental body which seeks to empower the poor and vulnerable in society and improve livelihoods through capacity building, sound environmental and health practices while promoting the gospel- to build the Church. He is married with seven children.

The church also used the occasion to promulgate its revised version of the August 2010 constitution to facilitate its operational activities. Again, the church at the event adopted a policy regarding the formation of parishes, districts and presbyteries. Attending commissioners included representatives from all the 15 presbyteries as well as other corresponding members. A thanksgiving service at the Dela Cathedral in Ho climaxed all activities.

The church leadership called on its membership to remain focused and committed to its core values of evangelization in line with its 5 year strategic plan to propel positive development of the Church. The theme for the event was breaking new grounds revisited; now it’s our turn.
