Ghanaians have been plagued by a hurting economy where businesses are struggling to thrive, with some on the brink of collapsing.

And for many Ghanaians, they are demanding answers to why the country’s economy is in this crisis.

Selasi Agorgli, one of such Ghanaians, was the guest on the recent episode of GhanaWeb TV’s Everyday People.

Interacting with reporter Eugenia Diabah, who inquired from the young man how the economy was treating him, he lamented about how he has been recording low sales anytime he peddles his goods.

“To be honest with you, our businesses are collapsing and we do not know what to do. You leave your house with the prospect of returning home with enough money but you get here and you hardly sell three joggings. I wouldn’t blame anything but the economy. It is too bad,” he told the reporter.

Selasi Agorgli relocated from the Volta Region to Accra to have a share of the city’s good life.

Searching for a job to do, someone recommended selling sweatpants to him and that’s what he’s been feeding on for two years and counting.

And with workers advised to be frugal, this young man says he has been living from hand to mouth and is not able to save despite having a job.

He said, “The prices of goods increase every day so the money I earn a day, I buy foodstuff with it and by the end of the day, I’m unable to save for the future. The money I’m able to save, I sometimes invest that money into the business when I have made losses.”

He added that there is a solution to this messy economy and has urged the incumbent government to restore the economy to its former glory.
