Experience farmers form association

Agona Swedru, June 14, GNA - A group of seasoned farmers at Agona Swedru in the Central Region have come together to form an association called "Agona General Farmers Association".

The members of the Association include retired agriculturists, experienced seed producers, poultry and pig farmers. Mr Paul Nelson, Chairman, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Swedru, said the leaders of the association were poised to make good use of their accumulated expertise and experiences acquired in agriculture, to boost food, meat and poultry production in the Agona Swedru Municipality, and the nation at large.

He said they would launch a long-term education programme to sensitize the youth on the benefits to be derived if they embraced farming. Mr Nelson extended an invitation to the people in the Municipality to join the association to help boost food sufficiency in the area. The other executive members include Mr J. K. Essah-Essuman, Secretary, Mr Charles Amoah, Financial Secretary, Mr Isaac Kofi Botsie, Treasurer, and Mr Richard Kojo Lawoe organizer.
