The controversy over the alleged shady deal involving the Managing Director (MD) of the Bulk Oil Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Alfred Obeng Boateng is political forethought instigated by bigwigs within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to shut down Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential ambition.

“It was something that was planned, really thought of and well executed, “former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, Hon. Joseph Yamin claimed.

“I am surprised to hear the Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko is forming a committee to look into the issues. This issue came up as a result of a tink tank exposing a rot at BOST …..and you know this tink is owned by a Deputy Minister of Energy which BOST is directly under. So if we have Amin Anta’s tink tank ACEP is coming out with this very important corrupt practices of the same ministry which he is part of, comes to say they are setting up committee to investigate the matter it is to dent the image of the MD”, Hon. Joseph Yamin deduced.

According to him, the embattled MD is protecting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ambition to become a successor to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President”.

“The Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko who also has ambition to succeed Nana Akufo-Addo wants the BOST boss out. …the Deputy Minister whose office is setting the committee brought this corruption out”.

“Hon. Boakye Agyarko contested Nana Akufo- Addo in the NPP’s flagbearship race 2007. …and you do not need to be a scientist or prophet to know that this is not coincidence”, he asserted during a panel discussion on Kumasi-based Ultimate FM’s morning show.

“I know for a fact that Alfred Obeng and Dr. Bawumia are intimate friends. I am told Dr. Bawumia facilitated his appointment into that office”, the aspiring NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman claimed.
