Express love in a healthy and meaningful manner – Tourism Manager

The Tema Office of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) on Tuesday celebrated this year’s National Chocolate Day with pupils of Manhean Methodist Primary School, where the children were presented with chocolate and other cocoa products.

The Day, which is in its sixth year, was introduced as a special event on the tourism Calendar to celebrate Ghana’s Chocolate alongside Valentine Day and to promote the local consumption of chocolate, as well as other cocoa products for natural goodness and health benefits.

Speaking at the function, Mrs. Gifty Kwansa, Tema Regional Manager of GTA advised Ghanaians to express their love on Valentine Day in a more healthy and meaningful manner.

Mrs. Kwansa advised Ghanaians to consume more cocoa products to improve their health.

Ms Janet Brakatu Addo, Headteacher of Manhean Methodist Primary said due to its healthy nature and medicinal effects, chocolate should not be taken on a particular or special occasion, but as a daily delicacy.

Ms Addo used the occasion to appeal to the Ministry of education to provide the school, which was established as far back as 1966, with a Junior High School.

She further appealed to the Ministry, to fence the school to prevent the constant distraction by intruders.

The Cocoa Processing Company sponsored the celebration with the main and sub-themes as: “Chocolate - A Healthy Expression Of Love,” and "Showing Love To The Vulnerable” respectively.
